SCNow Morning News: Typical Duke Energy Progress power bill going up $8 a month
Typical Duke Energy Progress residential customers will see an increase of $8.06 on their monthly bill.
Duke Energy Progress, in a news release issued Monday, said a typical residential customer using 1,000 killowatt-hours would see their bill increase by $8.06 to 130.55 per month after approved rate increases go into effect. The company also added that its rates remain below the national average. …
The June rate increase was approved by the S.C. Public Service Commission on May 8 after public hearings were held in April in Florence and Sumter. The commission approved a rate of return on equity of 9.5 percent, which would provide Duke Energy Progress with more than $41 million in additional revenue.
